First post!

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged. I remember keeping up with blogging in the early 2000s and then fell off when Tumblr’s endless scroll caught my attention. Then I moved onto blogging derivatives (namely Instagram and Twitter) and after Twitter’s major fiasco, I’ve finally landed back on a lengthy multimedia format.

I’ve no tangible ambitions for this blog. I simply felt the loss of a digital space and thought to move elsewhere. This space will be like a living room. A void. I will fill it with whatever I feel and need and want. It will support my desire to share myself in ways that feel less lacking (yes, I’m talking about Instagram and Twitter).

So, so much has happened. I’ve grown and matured and yet I seem to find areas where I haven’t done much of either. Life is a long, long, short process and I mean to live it well. So, thank you for being here.

A DREAM COME TRUE

Taken at night, a lit-up billboard bears the name Webster Hall in all uppercase. Beneath it, a band's name Voxtrot and the date of their concert, September 17.

I saw Voxtrot in September for the first night of their Hello New World come-back tour. I didn’t think I’d ever see Voxtrot because they disbanded when I was first getting into their music. It was a really special evening that I’m grateful to have experienced.

SOME PHOTOS OUTDOORS

I tried to get out as much as possible this summer since a serious schedule of school, work, and pandemic isolation was stressing me out. I wore a mask everywhere I went and enjoyed the sunlight and warm breezes. I went to Central Park and some local parks in the neighborhood.

I finally got to eat at The Butcher’s Daughter and I had their famous “The Best Egg Sandwich”. I wouldn’t say it was the best I’ve ever had but it is high in the list of egg sandwiches that I’ve had. 8/10 – would go again.

I was also invited on a birthday boat cruise around New York Harbor with some friends. I got to see the Statue of Liberty whom I’ve only seen from afar while riding the Staten Island Ferry, and while performing (with Kinding Sindaw) on Ellis Island.

TRAVELING VIA TRAIN

If you haven’t yet, ride Amtrak’s new train, Acela. It’s so fast to get to your destination and riding trains is always really fun. This year we took the Acela to Philadelphia and Washington D.C. I think I had the best cheeseburger of my life at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

We also went upstate on the Metro North to the Dia:Beacon for more art.

In the basement of the Dia:Beacon museum. The area is filled with neon green lighting and architectural support beams that serve as aesthetic and utility. There is a window that peeks into the outside. The contrast in color (neon green and non-manipulated color) plays an illusion that the landscape beyond the window is pink.
Taken from the top of the Washington Monument in Washington D.C. The national mall is centered in the image and leading towards the Capitol Building in the distance. It is a bright and sunny day.

  1. yay, another blog begins! 🙂 i like your way of thinking about it as a ‘living room’, that’s quite nice.

i’m so interested in this ‘best cheeseburger ever’, mostly just amused it’s at a museum. i never eat at museums because i figure they’re always expensive.

    • The cheeseburger was incredibly well made! The ingredients were super fresh! And IIRC it was only $13—a STEAL for a well-done burger these days.

I also avoid eating at museums but I was hangry lol

I also like how you said this space will be like a living room🙆‍♀️ That birthday boat cruise sounded lovely! And never trust anywhere saying it’s got the number one anything XD But at least it was tasty enough. (Apologies if this comment is submitted twice)
